What we collect
We keep this policy short and in plain English. MyFarmHand is an offline-first farm record keeping app with AI assistants, built for Australian farmers. Here is what we collect and when:
- Waitlist details — the email address and (optionally) first name and state you give us when joining the waitlist.
- Account details — your name, email address and farm profile when you create an account after launch.
- Your farm records — the livestock, crop, task, weather and note records you enter into the app. This is your data, entered by you, stored for you.
- AI assistant interactions — when you use the Matt or Sarah push-to-talk assistants, the voice request you make is processed so the assistant can answer. Recordings and transcripts are only stored if the assistant needs them to complete your request.
- Technical information — device type, operating system version and basic app diagnostics so we can fix problems in the paddock, not just in the office.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide the service you asked for: keeping your records available across your devices, answering your assistant requests, reminding you of muster dates, and telling you when the app launches.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your farm records to advertise to you. Aggregated, de-identified statistics may be used to improve the app — for example, understanding which features farmers use most — but never to identify you or your property.
Offline-first by design
MyFarmHand is built to work without signal. Records you create while offline stay on your device first. They only leave your device to sync to your account when you have connectivity. You remain in control of what is synced, and you can export or delete your records at any time.
Sharing your information
We share personal information only with the service providers that make MyFarmHand work — such as our cloud hosting and AI providers — and only under contracts that require them to protect it. We may also disclose information where required by Australian law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is perfect, so we design to the principle of collecting as little as we need, and we review our security practices regularly. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account and records from within the app. When you do, we remove your farm records from our systems within 30 days, except where we must keep some information for legal, accounting or fraud-prevention purposes. Waitlist emails are deleted if you ask us to remove you.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 you can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it. We handle all requests promptly and free of charge.
Children
MyFarmHand is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
As the app develops we may update this policy. When we make material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
